Typhoon Phanfone leaves 16 dead and many homeless in Philippines

 

Manila: Tourist enjoying holidays on the eve of X-mas on Wednesday were gripped by the typhoon Phanfone, killing at least 16 people in several parts of country. Typhoon Phanfone was seen taking the similar path, though much weaker than Super Typhoon Haiyan the deadliest storm recorded in the history of Philippines in which more than 7,300 people died or went missing in 2013.

The Philippines is the first major landmass facing the Pacific typhoon belt, and is hit by an average of about 20 storms a year.
