NAVY NCC CADETS OF LUCKNOW EXCEL IN YACHTING CAMP AT VISAKHAPATNAM

LUCKNOW. The cadets of 3 UP Naval unit NCC Lucknow, representing NCC Directorate (Uttar Pradesh), put up a commendable performance during the Special Yachting Camp held at Visakhapatnam.

The team comprising Cadets Manas Bajpai, Aman Kumar, Devyanshi Singh and Simarpreet Kaur stood first in the Kayaking race held at Naval Base, Visakhapatnam. The Cadets were awarded a certificate of merit by Commodore A S Dadwal, Commanding Officer – INS Circars, Visakhapatnam.

The aim of this camp was to select and groom young NCC cadets for participation in National and International Yachting competition. Besides yachting, the cadets were trained in seamanship, navigation and naval signaling aspects during the 10-day camp.

Before proceeding for the camp, these selected cadets received rigorous training at Lucknow under the able guidance of Master Chief Petty Officers RC Yadav and Kanhaiya Singh. PI Staff LME Satish Kumar accompanied the cadets for on-site coaching and guidance at Vizag.

The performance of Navy NCC Cadets is a creditable achievement for NCC Group HQ Lucknow and NCC Directorate (UP). In addition to Yachting training, the Cadets were also exposed to the challenging life of naval sailors at sea and helped them hone leadership qualities along with a spirit of adventure and enterprise.
