New faces might find place in Delhi government

After a thumping victory the Aam Admi Party (AAP) shall have Arvind Kejriwal as chief minister of Delhi state for a third time. Selection of faces for the ministry has also begun and the meeting of the MLAs has been conducted to choose leader of the legislature party.

Sources said that on February 16 the oath taking ceremony shall take place. Formalities to make a new cabinet has also begun. IN the MLAs meeting Manish Shishodia proposed the name of Arvind Kejriwal for the chief minister’s post and the MLAs unanimously elected Kejriwal as their leader. In charge of the election Sanjay Singh was the in charge of this meeting too.

Sources said that the new cabinet shall have several news faces also. And some of these new faces shall be youths who will be given place in the Kejriwal cabinet. The oath ceremony shall take place in Delhi’s Raamleela Ground.

No AAP leader has formally spoken on this issue. But it is supposed that newly elected MLA Raghav Chaddha and Atishi shall get a place as ministers. Both had been advisors in the previous Kejriwal government but as the centre had stated their appointment as incorrect they were removed. Both had contested in the Lok Sabha election last year but lost.

Raghav Chaddha is a charted accountant by profession and spokesperson in AAP. His image in the party is that of a social and friendly person. Raghav contested from Rajinder Nagar and won by 20000 votes. It is said that Raghav may become finance minister and Atishi might become education minister in the new government.

It may be noted that all cabinet ministers have won elections that includes Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Rajendra Pal Gautam. AAP has in all won 62 seats, which is 6 less than previous elections. The BJP got 8 seats and the Congress like previous election got no seats and 67 of the Congress candidates lost their deposits. AAP had 53.57% vote share and the BJP 38.51% while Congress got 4.26% votes in the elections.

Pramila Tokas who won from RK Puram says the new cabinet will have woman also. AAP MLA from Ambedkarnagar Ajay Dutt said that CM Kejriwal will be Delhi CM again but we want him to become the PM.
