Shivpal Yadav’s membership in the state assembly shall not expire as the Samajwadi Party has withdrawn its disqualification plea against Shivpal Yadav. And this has given way to debate about a comeback by Shivpal in Samajwadi Party.
The discussion had come to fore ever since both Shivpal and Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief had met during Holi festival in Saifai. During this short meet Akhilesh had even touched Shivpal’s feet, a gesture of respect for elders.
It may be noted that just before the assembly elections in 2017 differences came up between Akhilesh and his uncle Shivpal and later Shivpal made his own Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia). The Samajwadi Party had in September last year moved a plea with the vidhan sabha speaker to end the membership of Shivpal as party MLA from Jaswantnagar. The plea is under consideration since then.
Leader of the opposition and senior SP leader Ram Govid Chaudhary had written a letter withdrawing application seeking disqualification of Shivpal Yadav to the speaker stating there are some document lacking.
He wrote that since there are some documents incomplete in their petition hence the decision might be pending and that the party is unable to produce those papers hence it takes back the petition.
He said that letter has been written to take back the earlier letter and will it be filed again with complete documents will be decided by party president. Hriday Narayan Dixit the vidhan sabha speaker said he received the letter from Samajwadi Party but right now all office are closed and later the legal opinion will decide the fate of the plea.
