Will BJP now shun polarization politics?

Surendra Dubey

The Delhi election result has left the BJP pondering over numbers. The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has termed this victory of Aam Admi Party (AAP) as victory over hatred and also gave a message to the entire nation that in the coming elections parties who work for people will win.

Those in to fake nationalism, Hindu-Muslim politics are gone.  It is now being thought that the BJP will take lesson from the election and make changes in its political agenda but this observation was nullified in 24-hours.

Lets understand threadbare the statements from two BJP bigwigs that will tell us whether the BJP will salute the new political situation or will walk the same path. The first statement from Giriraj Singh, the union minister.
Singh said that people are not fighting against the CAA but for the Gajwa-e-Hind.

They wish to bring Gajwa-e-hind in India  and make a Muslim nation. We shall not allow them to fulfill this desire. Speaking on the defeat in Delhi Singh said had we not made a mistake we would have won.

Singh who had com to meet Swami Brahmanand Saraswati of the Mahalakeshwar Ashram in Devikund of Devband said, this is not a protest against citizenship law. People in the country are protesting to oppose. At Shaheen Bagh a learned person like Sharjeel Imam is saying that we will separate Assam from India and we shall compel them to make Islam state.

Earlier Singh had said while targeting Shaheen Bagh that the Shaheen Bagh is not just protest but here suicide bombers are being made/prepared. Conspiracy against the country is being made in the national capital. He also said that Darul Uloom was Gangotri of terrorism.

Lets now read the latest tweet of BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya in which he also congratulated Arvind Kejriwal. He wrote who ever goes in shelter of Lord Hanuman gets blessing. Time has now come that Hanuman Chalisa be read mandatorily in all Delhi schools, madarsas and all educational institutes. Why should Delhi kids be deprived of blessings from Lord Hanuman?

It is now clear from the statements of these two leaders that the BJP stands with its points to divide nation in the name of Hindu-Muslim and to say anti-nationals for those protesting at Shaheen Bagh. People were thinking that BJp will after the defeat in Delhi, shun polarization and take up public issues and try to save its image but this has not happened.

But the Uddhav Thakre government in Maharastra and Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal are working on giving free electricity to people. Its clear that those who want to improve have expressed their intentions. And those who wish to continue with hatred and polarization politics have also expressed their views.

Political analysts say the BJP has kept Hindu Nation building on the top in the list of its agenda. That is why the party has stated Shaheen Bagh protest as protest by terrorists and wont back out from creating unpleasantness between Hindu and Muslim.

A big section of the BJP believes the victory in 2019 lok sabha elections is an indication that despite poor economics and least job opportunity in 45 years people are ready to vote on nationalism and Hindu-Muslim issue. Hence the BJP shall play the same trumpet in the forthcoming Bihar election as it did in Delhi. If the BJp faces defeat in Bihar too, the party might then improve its political vision.
