Why is BJP worried for panic in BSP?

News Desk

The year 2022 holds high significance for Uttar Pradesh politics. On the one hand, it will be litmus test for the chief minister Yogi Adityanath as it is expected that the CM may be made the face for the assembly polls. On the other side the political skills of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will also watched to see what results it brings to Congress.

The coming elections will also decide the future of politics for BSP chief Mayawati. Apart from these leaders the former chief minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who is yet to take up legacy of his father fully, will also be under scanner as people will watch how he goes on to take the power in Uttar Pradesh once again.

The manner in which big leaders and names from various parties have joined the Samajwadi Party (SP), it is believed that Akhilesh Yadav has become stronger. Majority of those who joined SP are from BSP and the latest name who joined SP after leaving BSP is Ram Prasad Chaudhary, a politician with strong hold in east UP among OBCs who was expelled from the BSP two-months before.

Five times MLA in Uttar Pradesh assembly Ram Prasad Chaudhary has not joined SP alone but he took with him a big chunk of senior and experienced party workers. Former MP from Basti Arvind Chaudhary, former MLA Doodhram, Rajendra Chaudhary and Nandu Chaudhary too joined SP.

Apart from these CL Verma, who was a BSP candidate from Mohanlalganj, former minister Raghunath Prasad Shankhwar, Parshuram NIshad, (Gorakhpur), Sunil Gautam, Man Singh Paal (Jalon), Umesh Pandey (Mau) have also joined hands with the SP. Two times MLA from Mujaffarnagar Anil Kumar too had joined SP with his supporters. Anil comes from dalit category and was in the BSP since long.

Sources in the SP told that in the coming days many BSP leaders will join their party, the SP. A leader close to Akhilesh Yadav said on condition of anonymity that the party (SP) has made plans to attract leaders from BSP at the district level and this is expected to give a jolt to the BJP which can be given by the SP.

The sources said that the party (SP) favours to have alliance on the basis of caste before the 2022 elections in the state. Former chief minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has given indication about the same in the past also. The recent decision to hold statewide conventions on Ambedkar Jayanti was one such decision. It is said that the decision to make Ramkaran Nirmal the president of Lohia Vahini and Arvind Giri the president of Yuvjan Sabha is also Akhilesh Yadav’s steps towards caste based alliance for the 2022 elections.

It may be noted that a few days before AKhilesh Yadav has said that big leaders from other parties will join the SP. And after a few days of this statement, Sunil Singh, the former state president of Hindu Yuva Vahini and a close associate of CM Yogi Adityanath joined Samajwadi Party.

The manner in which leaders from other parties and particularly backward class leaders have shown trust in the SP, the BJP has got a natural tension and it (BJP) has also come in to action mode. It has started focus on organization. The state president of the BJP Swatantra dev Singh has announced names of chief of 11 districts and now the focus is to strengthen the organization in the state.

Sources said that changes in the organization has been done the basis if activeness of the local partymen hence the changes reflect how caste has been given attention while choosing office bearers. IN the new list of the BJP west, brij, Kanpur, awadh and Kashi regions have been divided. Apart from the district presidents other office bearers might also soon be changed.

The BJP has given the responsibility of Muradabad to Rajpal Singh Chauhan and of Aligarh to Vivek Sarasvat. Ramkesh Nishad is now president of Banda district and in Jhansi district Jamuna Kushwaha is the new district chief. In Lalitpur Jagdish Lodhi is the new chief and in fatehpur Ashish Mishra has been given charge. In Ayodhya Sanjeev Singh has been made district president, RA Verma in Sultanpur, Durgesh Tripathi in Amethi, Abhimanyu Singh in Chandauli and Hariom Mishra in Pratapgarh.
