What will BJP do if denied permission for a rally

Jubilee News Desk

Union Home minister Amit Shah has a rally to address in Kolkata on March 01. But the Kolkata police has still not confirmed or denied permission to this proposed rally.

This has brought a puzzling situation for the BJP. The rally in Kolkata is proposed at Shahid Minar ground and this really is to be addressed by Union Home minister Amit Shah. Only a few days are left for the rally. The BJP workers and even party leaders are in Delhi are worried over the rally due to the delay in permission.

BJP state president Dilip Ghosh has said that we have demanded permission for rally at Shahid Minar in Kolkata but the police has not given us any permission till now neither has the police denied a permission.

It may be mentioned that the controversy over Amit Shah’s rally is not for the first time in West Bengal. Earlier in 2014 also the BJP had to go to court for permission for holding a rally. Keeping the past experience in view the BJP still has a legal way left with it, if the West Bengal government does not permit really.

BJP West Bengal president Dilip Ghosh said that permission has also been sought from the army as the custodian of the Shaheed ground is the army. He said there shall be no violation of rules for using loudspeakers.

Giving reasons the West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh said that there are no houses around the Shaheed Ground hence there shall be no disturbance to students or their parents. Also there is no examination on the day the rally is proposed.

It may be mentioned that there are several anti CAA protests going on in West Bengal hence the BJP wants to turn the Amit Shah rally in to a pro-CAA rally too. Ghosh said that we wanted the PM to come to Kolkata but due to prior commitments the PM wont come and now Amit Shah will address the rally.

The TMC has not objected to the BJP rally. Minister in the state government Parth Chaterjee has said that Amit Shah has earlier too come to Kolkata and we home he will follow rules and protocol.
