The work started to overcome the water crisis in 15 villages in Shahabad tehsil of Baran district of Rajasthan has started yielding positive results. Work is being done to build water structures to improve the lives of Sahariya tribal living in this area.
Due to non-stop rain water, there used to be huge water crisis in Shahabad block because rain water does not stop for a long time. The water sources of this area were not able to be recharged for a long time. Due to which this area remained dry in most of the months of the year and the villagers here did not have enough water for drinking and agriculture and for animals could not get it in quantity.
Sanjay Singh, The chief functionary of Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan says, “The main objective of the Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan, an NGO, was to start water conservation work to overcome the water crisis. Stop dam was built in Guwadi, and village Bhoyal and it is also planned for villages like Bhilkheda Dang, Matiya Khara, Ranipura, Kaswa Nonera, Chorakhadi, Pathari, Khushhalpura, Mazhari, Goyra, Amarpura, Sangwan, Purana Faredua, Shubhdhara etc”.
Structures are being built to conserve water so that the poor Sahariya community of Shahabad area can get adequate water for drinking, agriculture and animals from time to time.

Parmarth is working to overcome the water crisis by building more and more water structures. In these areas, during the summer season, people have to bring water from other villages, due to which people’s wages and other activities get affected. Also, all the family members get tied up in the water system, hence they face a lot of problems in their lives.
People will get maximum benefits in the future, from the water conservation program of Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan, Shahabad block will also get relief from water crisis and the standard of living of the people here will improve.
