UP schools closed till April 02

Lucknow: All schools, colleges and educational institutes in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed till April 02, the state cabinet decided in its meeting.

Briefing reporters about the cabinet decisions energy minister Shrikant Sharma said that all basic, secondary and higher education institutes will remain closed till April 02. He appealed that people should not be afraid of coronavirus but remain alert.

Also all cinema halls, multiplxes, competitive exams will remain closed. The ongoing exams have also been postponed. While Tehsil diwas, samadhan diwas are suspended till April 02.

All tourist places in the state to remain closed for tourists till March 31. Cleaning of campuses will be done on routine, said the minister after the cabinet meeting. Also the government, he said, will ensure all daily waged labours get financial support and a committee has been made with labour, finance ministers in it that will give its report in three days. So some amount will be transferred in their bank accounts.

The state government had decided to keep educational and vocational institutes closed till March 22 and the government was to review situation again on March 20. But the cabinet on Tuesday decided to extend the duration of closure further. The central government has also closed all schools till March 31.
