UP: Police came unprepared as CAA protesters turned violent in Lucknow

Lucknow: The protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has turned violent at Lucknow’s Parivarthan Stal and Chawk area where started pelting stones during a clash with local police in the area. The Lucknow police has been failing to deal with the crowed again.  Police post at the Madeganj police has been torched along with several vehicles.

The protesters set ablaze vehiches and damaged public property in several parts of the city while the police were trying to stop them by firing pellet guns and thrown stones back at them but the crowd was repling with the same. Protesters even vandalized several OP vans covering the situation . Some journalists at the ground were also beaten down by the police during this time. After this arounf 40-50people have been arrested in Hussainabad area.

The protest started from parivartan Sthal started off as a normal protest even though the government had announced  Section 144 in several pockets of Uttar Pradesh following the protest again CAA.  Protesters gathered from Hazarat Ganj to Kahdra became riots after some of them carrying petrol bombs blew away several public and police vehicles.

It somehow seems that Uttar Pradesh police was not ready to face with all these matters despite the large number of Intel gathered by them. However, the administration has asked the people to stay aware of any rumors that are spreading on social media or could be spread in the near future. But the UP police maybe wasn’t  ready to deal with such situation.
