IN a major reshuffle state government Thursday shifted 16 senior IAS officers including the additional chief secretary (ACS) medical health Amit Mohan Prasad and ACS information Navneet Sehgal.
The orders that were circulated on various social media platforms since morning basically discussed shifting of Prasad, the man who managed the healthcare system well during the entire covid pandemic period and was assumed to have a strong hold in the health department.
Prasad’s name however was connected with the issue of doctors transfer in July first week. The health minister Brajesh Pathak had written a letter to the ACS asking him details on each transfer done. Later over 300 doctors submitted representation stating their transfer was done against the transfer policy 2022.
Probe was set up and 89 transfers were identified for a change. A proposal after review was sought from the health directorate and many transfers got cancelled. Prasad has been replaced by Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma who is now made principal secretary health, a post that was vacant.
Among those shifted include ACS information Navneet Sehgal who will join sports department, Himanshu Kumar principal secretary social welfare will join village development and rural engineering, Kalpana Awasthy has been shifted from sports to principal secretary governor and in her place Sidhir M Bobde has been posted, Monika S Garg has been shifted from higher education to minority welfare.
