Since the first COVID-19 case was reported on March 2 in Agra, the count in Uttar Pradesh has crossed 41000 and the total number of cases now are 41383.
The state has conducted a total 1277241 tests till now and this means for every 30 testes one person is testing positive. The death tally has crossed 1K and total number of deaths now are 1012, according to the aroyga setu app data.
According to the data Uttar Pradesh stands at sixth place in terms of positive cases where Maharastra with 275640 cases stands on top in the list and Tamil Nadu with 151820 on second place. NCT od Delhi has reported 116993 cases and Karnataka 47253 while Gujarat is little above UP with 44552 cases.
Significantly the first six lakh tests in Uttar Pradesh were conducted in almost 4 months time (by June 20) while the second lot of six lakh tests in 20 days and the rise in cases came when tests increased. Among ten states with maximum number of COVID cases UP ranks third in number of samples tested. Where Tamil Nadu conducted 17 lakh tests, Maharastra 13 lakh and UP 12 lakh, the UP NHM shared the data on its twitter handle.

After the first case was reported in Uttar Pradesh, the count reached 1000 on April 20, which was 49 days since the first case reported. The second thousand came up on April 28. The third 1000 cases came up on May 8 and fourth thousand came on May 15.
The five thousand came up on May 20 and sixth thousand on May 23. State reached the seventh thousand in the tally on May 28 and 8000 on May 31. On June 4 the state crossed 9000 mark and on June 6 total count was above 10000 cases.
The pace of positive cases then became faster and till now state has crossed 41000 mark. Every day the state is conducting over 35000 tests and the target is to reach 50000 mark at the earliest.
