UP boy bags 17th rank in NEET

Lucknow: UP boy has bagged 17th rank in NEET-2020, results of which were declared on Friday.

The national testing agency (NTA) that conducted the test in a press release stated Abhiuday Pratap Singh of Uttar Pradesh has got all India rank 17th rank, he scored 710 out of total 720 marks and got 99.99% marks. In Uttar Pradesh Singh has topped.

The National Medical Commission Act, 2019 received assent of the President on 08thAugust, 2019. Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act (NMC Act), 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law.

Thus, the admission to MBBS course in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) and all AIIMS like Institutions will also be made through NEET (UG) (NMC Act, 2019).

The Counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats and all seats of Deemed Universities/ Central Universities/ Seats of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation(ESIC) and AFMC including Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, and AIIMS& JIPMER will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of Directorate General of Health Services, Govt. of India(MCC/DGHS) for Undergraduate Medical Courses.

The counselling for admission to the seats under the control of other States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned.

During counselling, the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, various documents, etc. of the eligible candidates shall be verified as per norms specified by the respective authorities and/or Medical/ Dental / Ayurveda/ Siddha/ Unani/ Homeopathy Colleges.
