UP assembly session starts with protest

Lucknow: Congress, BSP and the Samajwadi Party staged protest on Wednesday the first day of the first session for the UP vidhan sabha in 2021.

The SP MLAs came with sugarcane loaded on tractors, to mark protest against the farm bills. The SP MLAs sat on the main road, Congressmen held placards demanding the farm bills be taken back and the BSP placards highlighted suppression of the backward and poor law and order.

Watching the SP MLAs riding on tractors and heading towards the gates of the vidhan bhavan the security guards resisted by closing the gates. The MLAs then sat on the ground and started protest near the status of Chaudhary Chanran Singh.

The Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha was to meet at 11 am for its first session of the year 2021.
The first session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature was to begin with Governor Anandiben Patel addressing a joint session of both the houses of the Assembly.

Protesting partymen held placards and demanded farm bills be taken back while other placards had slogans on poor law and order situation in the state. Also price rise of petrol and diesel were mentioned on them.
