Easing of lockdown is the latest phenomenon across the countries and each one of them is planning it in their own way depending upon the circumstances and number of fresh cases. How is has to be eased and whether it will be a complete lifting of lockdown or partial depends upon the situations in countries.

At present schools, offices, shopping complexes all are shut and people are working from home. Many cities have police cordons and only those with valid reason are allowed to move.

After about a 7-week of lockdown in the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to announce the next phase of the country’s response to the coronavirus pandemic – easing the lockdown with extreme caution.

The UK government has repeatedly stressed the country must not risk a second spike and that it aims to proceed with extreme caution. Across Europe, people are already seeing an easing of lockdown measures, as businesses reopen and children going to school.

Schools have been partially reopened for young children and candidates taking exams. France’s strict lockdown was imposed on 17 March and residents were required to provide a travel permit justifying any trips. From 11 May, those restrictions will be eased.

Residents will no longer have to provide travel certificates , and car journeys of up to 100kms will be permitted. Longer trips will still require a certificate.

Primary schools and nurseries will reopen from 11 May, while schools for 11 to 15 year-olds in green zones will open on 18 May. A limit of 15 pupils will be put on classrooms and masks will be compulsory for children.

Ireland has had a stricter lockdown than the UK, with residents only allowed to exercise within 2km (1.2 miles) of their homes. But a five-stage roadmap to re-open the country starts on 18 May, with restrictions eased every three weeks.
