Two coronavirus deaths reported in UP

Lucknow: First two coronavirus death in Uttar Pradesh have been reported from Gorakhpur and Meerut. A youth from Basti admitted to a hospital died and later his sample tested positive for coronavirus and in Meerut an elderly man, who had tested positive on March 29, died.

On Wednesday the sample report came from King George’s Medical University stating the 25-year-old youth had tested positive for coronavirus. He was admitted for treatment at BRD Medical college on Monday.

The news that test were positive has spread panic among staffs and nurses who attended him. IN all six such medical staff has been isolated.

We are tracing all those who came in contact of the man including medical staff, the driver who brought him here from Basti, relatives and also those who went for the last rites, said district officials at Gorakhpur.

In Meerut a 72 year old man died. He was relative of the man who had tested positive on March 27 after returning from Maharastra.

Uttar Pradesh has till now reported 105 coronavirus positive cases and two deaths. Cases have been reported from Agra, Gorakhpur, Gaziabad, Noida, Bagpat, Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Lucknow, Lakhimpur-Kheri, Pilibhit, Kanpur, Moradabad, Shamli, Jaunpur, Meerut and Varanasi (2).
