News Desk: As Modi government took oath in 2014, Amit Shah was seen as a key player in the political arena but with the Modi government taking second successive term in the country Shah’s role has even increased. Not just as Home Minister of the country but Shah has been taking front seat in the Sangh and BJP national agendas.
As home minister Shah got the triple-talaq and 370 bills passed and his speech in the Lok Sabha over the Citizenship (Amendment) bill has clear indications that Shah is emerging as the new Hindutwa face.
Shah took the front seat as PM Modi was not present during the discussions and voting over these bills, though Shah mentioned Modi guidance several times during the discussions but he took it at the front. As home minister Shah has taken forward third bill, which is also close to the agenda of the Sangh. During when the 370 bill was tabled in Rajya Sabha the PM was not present and it was Shah who took the lead in discussions.
Even the party men are now referring Shah as the ‘iron man’ in the party. It was also in the discussions that after PM Narendra Modi it was Shah who could be the next PM candidate. Earlier the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath being seen as face of Hindutwa from the Sangh and BJP but now the face seems changing and Shah is appearing.
