As of May 1st, The U.S. has confirmed nearly 1.1 million COVID-19 cases, with 64 thousand deaths.
Speculations are that the world leaders, including WHO warned US about possibility of a global pandemic long before it even started in China in 2019.
But funds were scoped for making walls, creating fighter planes for the army while health, medical aid, vaccines, and viruses were foolishly ignored. Nothing from the past epidemics taught anyone a thing.
As the world is battling this epidemic, US has seen the worst shades of its glamorous life in the last two months. In last few weeks, more than 16 million people lost their jobs, and many more are dreading that the news may fall upon them soon.
Companies, restaurants, hotels are being shut. Students are asked to wait; college pass outs are waiting for the hiring freeze to be lifted off from the companies. And, with all this and more to go, the coronavirus relief bill is running out of money.
The quarantine life has affected people in a variety of different ways. For Indians, studying and working in America, the job security and plans to stay in the US are ambiguous.
Similarly, Indian students who spent thousands of rupees to study in US, are wondering if their huge sums of fees is justified by giving online classes from professors.
Students, question if it makes sense for universities to charge full price while delivering a fundamentally different product than what they paid for. Although, remote learning lets universities fulfill their basic obligations to students, the students feel that they are not getting what they paid for.
While the country cripples in its worst economy since 1929, the president of the super-power is pushing its states to plan for reopening. the recovery will continue to be extremely painful for months to come, as businesses crippled by lack of sales struggle to reopen and possible next-waves of the virus result in further economic shutdowns.
While, some of the cities have started opening slowly, other cities are seeing a challenge as the citizens disregarding the social distancing and flooding the beaches and parks, jeopardizing the public safety.

Past studies on similar epidemics, have proven that relaxing or reversing quarantine measures right now could lead to an exponential explosion in the infected case count, thus nullifying the role played by all measures implemented in the US since mid-March 2020.

Only time will confirm us what will happen next. But we know this will get over, and hopefully soon. Until then, lets be human and help while we can.
