Staff danced during covid duty 

  • Four staff removed from job 
  • Agency issued a warning

While, entire world is busy fighting against covid virus few staff at the covid command centre in Uttar Pradesh were busy dancing to the tunes of ‘Lungi Dance’ a song picturised upon Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, in the movie Chennai Express.

Four of these contractual staff lost their jobs as action followed their viral video. Three female staff and a male lost their jobs.

The video that went viral showed the staff attempted to do the steps of the song ‘lungi dance.’ The staff were deployed via a agency at the state level covid command centre that is located at the fourth floor of the UP’s health directorate. The agency that was given contract to hire these employees was issued strict warning. “We have removed the four staff seen dancing,” Dr DS Negi, director general medical health said.

Last year the state level covid command centre was set up at the health directorate building to attend to calls regarding covid patients. This command centre works round the clock.

In the 30-second video four staff, including one male are seen dancing to the song of the movie ‘Chennai Express.’ The action came after video of the covid command cente staff went viral. The video was made during the working hours on February 12 the primary investigations revealed.
