The centre has given relief to states on their demand for people stuck outside states since lockdown began. Now special trains will ferry such people back to their states.
Earlier the union government has allowed travel for labours and others stuck in other states via road but the states were demanding special trains. Keeping in view the demand of states the centre has allowed special trains. This but has some riders.
The union government has said that students, labours or others who are stuck in other places outside their state can return and for this railway will made nodal authority. This authority will be in touch with the states. The railway will fix rules for social distancing, fare and others issues via a guideline. The rest will be as per the earlier guidelines.
The home ministry has said that special trains will run from pre-decided points to pre-decided destination and will be decided by the nodal officers decided by the railway and states. Railways has said that screening of the passengers will be arranged by the states and only those who do not have symptoms will be allowed travel. Buses will felicitate transport of passengers till the railway station.
Buses will be sanitized and social distancing will be followed. Also a repeat screening will be done when passengers reach the destination.
