A day after the killing of the Iranian Army General Qasim Sulemani another strike on an Iranian medical convoy has taken place in Tanji a place in northern Baghdad killing six people on Saturday.
Two trucks in which several guards of Popular Mobilization Forces were struck in which five members of the Paramilitary force died and three were injured. This time the United States have not taken responsibility yet nor the Iraq-US collation forces in the area, who are fighting ISIL.
Those killed during the air-strike are from pro-Iran militia Hashad-al- Shabi is another name for the pro-Iran Populist Mobilization Forces, an Iran backed umbrella organisation comprising of several militia. It has been told that the air-strike took place in Iran’s capital of Iraq.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Javed Zarif infuriated by the death of the top commander on Saturday said that the US must pay for this attack in a tweet that Washington bears responsibility for all consequences of it’s “rogue adventurism”.
“The US act of international terrorism, targeting & assassinating general Solemani- The most effective force fighting Daesh (ISIS), Al Nusrah, Al-Qaieda et al- is extremely dangerous and foolish escalation. The US bears responsibility for all the consequences of to rouge adventurism,” he said in the tweet.
The air strike came days later after Iranian forces killed an American contractor near Kirkuk, Iraq, last week and four other military members were injured during the attack by the Iranian-backed militia Kataib Hezbollah. After that a retaliatory strike by the US killed 25 members of the militia and injured more than 50. On New Years Eve on Tuesday,the militia attacked the US Embassy in Bahghdad.
