Shirdi Temple may be closed from January 19

 The temple town of Shirdi in Maharashtra’s may be closed from 19th January in protest of Mr Udhava Thakery’s announcement that real birth place of Shirdi Sai is Pathri village in Parbhani district.

He has also said that the government will spent Rs 100 crore for its development. Mr B Wakchaure of Saibaba Sansthan Trust said “we have announced to close Shirdi against rumors from January 19. A meeting in this regards of villagers will be held on Saturday evening to discuss the issue.”

The local residents are reportedly upset with Thackeray’s announcement and have sought an explanation from the chief minister.

The Locals are unhappy with chief minister Udhava Thakery for describing Pathri as the birthplace of 19th century Sai Baba. Trust Authorities say that there is no document available about Sai Baba’s birthplace. He never shared this with villagers.

Trust also cleared that all units like the Sai Prasadalaya, Sai Hospital, Sai Bhaktani will remain open during bandh.

Nitin Kote who is spearheading the stir had said that peaceful agitation would continue till the CM clears his stand on the issue. It could be possible that Thackeray was briefed wrongly on the issue.
