Seven dead in Sitapur, officials say might be gas leak

At least seven people died reportedly due to gas leak in a carpet factory in Sitapur district. The incident came to light in the morning.

Officials Say the incident happened in Biswan of Sitapur. Those died were workers of the carpet factory, and they were sleeping in the factory area when the supposed leak happened. Rescue operations were started by the personnel found it difficult due to the toxic gas spread in the area.

Administrative officials and health staff reached on the spot. The exact cause of the gas leakage is not known till now and also which gas killed seven people. A probe is being done to find out the exact incident.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and directed officials to extend all support to the effects families and prove the matter and take strict action against the guilty.
