Forest minister of Uttar Pradesh Dara Singh Chauhan resigned from office on Wednesday and cited BJP government was not doing enough for backward, dalit, farmers, youth and even the reservation for backward and dalit was being ignored.

Chauhan is second minister, to resign in two days, after Swami Prasad Maurya, the labour minister who resigned a day before from the government. Swami when asked has not stated which part would he join but said, ‘would decide on January 14 after consulting supporters.’
Swami who was earlier in Bahujan Samaj Party had joined BJP and hence it is being speculated that he would next join Samajwadi Party. But the leader is yet to open his cards formally.

Dara Singh Chauhan has been spearheading the state government plantation drive in the past 5-years which has resulted in to plantation of about 100 crore trees in the largest state of the country. His consecutive efforts had been praised by the chief minister.

Chauhan’s resignation, as it went viral on social media, had quick response from state’s deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. “If a family member gets distracted it does not feels good. I would only suggest that by boarding upon a sinking boat it will be a loss. Elder brother Dara Singh Chauhan please rethink your decision,” Maurya tweeted shortly after the resignation went viral.
