SBI Cup Media Premier League: Times of India won the trophy

Lucknow. A fine all-round performance by man-of-the-match Anish Oberoi (43 runs, 2 wkts) helped Times of India beat Hindustan Times by 14 runs to win the SBI Cup Media Premier League, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium here today.

After scoring 144/5 in 20 overs while batting first after winning the toss, TOI managed to skittle out Hindustan Times for 130 in 19.3 overs. Oberoi, who scored unbeaten 43 in 25 balls with the help of two fours and a six, was later named man of the match. He also took 2/18.

For TOI, Rishi Singh Senger (3/19), and Satyendra Mehrotra (2/16) also bowled well. HT’s skipper Abinav Shukla top scored 40 in 39 balls with the help of one four and a six. Rohit Kumar Singh (21, 15b, 2×4) and Javed Mustafa (15, 11b, 1×4, 1×6) were the other main run getters.

Besides Oberoi, Satyendra Mehrotra (37, 34b) and Abbas Rizvi (27, 27b, 2×4) were the other main run getters. For HT, Manish Singh, Rohit Kumar Singh, Abhinav Shukla and Abnshul Tripathi share four wickets between them.

HT’s Manish Singh, who took 11 wickets in the tournament was later declared best bowler, whereas Rajiv Srivastava (best batsman), Sharad Deep (best wicket-keeper) and Abhinav Shukla (man-of-the-tournament) were given special awards.

Managing Director of the Ekana Sportz City, Udai Sinha was the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Retired RTO, Ajay Tripathi, Ex-international cricketer Gyanendra Pandey and proprietor of the Z Star Furniture Nadeem Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
