The temple town of Shirdi in Maharashtra may be closed from 19th January in protest of Udhava Thakery’s statement that real birth place of Shirdi Sai is Pathri village in Parbhani district.
Thakery also said that the government will spent Rs 100 crore for its development. B Wakchaure of Saibaba Sansthan Trust said “we have announced to close Shirdi against rumors from January 19. A meeting, in this regard, of villagers will be held on Saturday evening to discuss the issue.”
It is said that the local residents are upset with Thackeray’s announcement and have sought an explanation from the chief minister.
