As videos of Russia’s invasion in Ukraine came on social media the world called it start of darkest hours after world war-II. As Russia claims it destroyed 74 Ukrainian military facilities including 11 air bases world leaders appeal to Putin to end the bloodshed.

“I am appalled by the horrific events in Ukraine and I have spoken to President Zelenskyy to discuss next steps. President Putin has chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction by launching this unprovoked attack on Ukraine,” Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom said via tweeter.

Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip Boris Johnson said the UK and our allies will respond decisively. “Our mission is clear – diplomatically, politically, economically – and eventually, militarily – this hideous and barbaric venture of Vladimir Putin must end in failure,” he said in his address to nation on situation in Ukraine on Thursday evening.

Earlier Johnson said I thanked our financial services sector today for the efforts they are making to ensure sanctions implemented against Russia are robust and effective. Should things escalate further, tougher sanctions are ready to punish President Putin for his destructive course of action.

On the war front as many as 40 Ukrainian soldiers and around 10 civilians have been killed by Russian shelling, according to the reports quoting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy adviser, said. Ukraine said it killed around 50 Russian occupiers without providing details.

The casualties are the latest in a series of fast-paced developments that began when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine early Thursday.
Following Putin’s invasion order, explosions were reported in several areas of Ukraine and air sirens went off in Kyiv, indicating that the capital city is under attack.
