In the case filed by Sarvoday Nagar, Lucknow resident Manjula Tiwari against Policemen who arrested her son Pulast Tiwari after alleged encounter in late night of 09 August 2020, CJM Lucknow Shushil Kumari has directed the Police to register FIR against the policemen.
As per the complainant’s counsel Dr Nutan Thakur, Lucknow Police claimed that it arrested Rs, 25,000 awardee Pulast Tiwari in the late night encounter held in Ashiyana police station area, where he suffered bullet injury in right leg.
In contrast, his family members claim that he was taken by 02 policemen from his house at around 6.30 PM, regarding which there is CCTV recording also.
In its order dated 06 March 2021, the Court said that it called report from the Police station, which said no FIR has been registered in this case.
The Court said that after perusal of the application and the other related documents, the accused policemen seem to have committed cognizable offence. Hence, it seems appropriate to register FIR in the case.
The Court accepted complainant Manjula Tiwari’s application and has directed Inspector Ashiyana to get FIR registered in the case and to get it investigated.

It has also directed the Inspector to present copy of FIR before the Court within 07 days as per provisions of section 157 CrPC.
Calling it victory of justice, Nutan has called for immediate registration of FIR.
