Pubs and clubs opening across Australia, with strict guidelines

Special Desk

While the world still focuses upon COVID-19 vaccine and its treatment pubs and clubs start opening across Australia redesigning hospitality. Large venue might not still open.

New South Wales state government has announced that bars and clubs with kitchens will be able to reopen on 15 May. This as Covid-19 lockdowns ease. Clubs that have started operations have redesigned hospitality and are coming up with ideas to show that they care.

Some have adopted making small cubicles for guests to sit and dine so that no one passing by comes in their contact while serving is done with the help of long rectangle boards. The food plates are kept on one side and serving is done by placing the edge upon table to let guest pick up plates themselves.

Bars and pubs will be subject to the same social distancing with 4 square metres of space for each partition. This even in open spaces along the river venue. Even if there are multiple rooms or multiple facilities in a venue, it’s only up to 10 people in one venue. Pubs and clubs are allowed to open an eating area according to the public health order issued on 14 May.

Bars and gaming facilities will remain closed. Pub restaurants will be allowed operations to join cafes and other restaurants in reopening as long as they maintain a 10-person limit.

The experience most typically associated with a pub, which is to order a beer from the counter will not be back. The brewery and pub, which was previously open for takeaway, will be inviting their first customers back in from 18 May.

Measures have been worked upon to ensure opening is in a safe manner and get the economy back up.
