Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi had been a topic of interest in Uttar Pradesh recently after she lashed out on CM Yogi Aditynath during her last visit to Lucknow. On Friday, Priyanka reached the Panch Ganga Ghaat in Varanasi where she met Banaras Hindu University (BHU) students who were injured during clashes and was later arrested for protesting against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Priyanka Gandhi, the party general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, who is preparing the Congress for Mission 2022, is continuously active in the state where students of BHU were brutally beaten by the Uttar Pradesh police during the protests.
Varanasi is the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minster Narendra Modi.

Earlier, Priyanka visited the Ravidas temple near Rajghat where she seen praying with folded hands. She was seen meeting the students outside the temple arrested during the CAA protesters.
