Lucknow: Prime minister Narendra Modi Wednesday laid foundation stone for the Ram Temple and did bhumi pujan in Ayodhya on Wednesday.
With a short list of 175 eminent guests, including 135 seers who were invited for the ceremony, the PM Modi laid the foundation stone. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath welcome the PM on his arrival in Ayodhya.
As per the tradition the PM first headed towards Hanuman Garhi, after his arrival in Ayodhya at around 11.30 am. Prime minister was gifted silver crown at the Hanuma Garhi after he offered prayer there.
At the Ram temple the prime minister planted a Parijat tree. The bhumi pujan had guest including Swami Ramdev invited for the event. RSS chief Bhagwat, UP governor Anandiben Patel were at bhoomi pujan venue.
At the bhumi pujan venue nine bricks are kept. These bricks were sent by devotees from around the world in 1989. There are 2 lakh 75 thousand such bricks out of which 100 bricks with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ engraving have been taken, said the priest presiding over bhoomi pujan.
