Sunday marks one year of covid vaccination in the country and state too and the statistics reveal state is close to covering almost 100% of the listed population with at least first dose.
In all 92.50% of the eligible 18-plus population has got their first dose and 57.32% among them their second dose, said additional chief secretary (medical health) Amit Mohan Prasad while sharing statistics of vaccination in the state.
Vaccination began in the country and also Uttar Pradesh on January 16, 2021. A total 22,84,89,786 doses of the vaccine had been administered. IN all 47,25,939 children between 15 and 18 years of age have been administered their first dose of covid vaccine which is 33.72% of their estimated population in Uttar Pradesh.
Among districts Lucknow is leading with 66,01,927 doses of the covid vaccine administered till now and this is over 100% of the task assigned to Lucknow.
Lucknow had a target of administering 37.40 lakh eligible 18-plus people and it has crossed the mark. Vaccination had begun with health workers last year on January 16 then it started for the frontline workers on February 2, followed by 60-plus and those above 45-years and comorbid from March 1 and for all above 18-years from May 1.
