Bureaucrats in Uttar Pradesh have more vehicles than what they are allowed to have officials. The secretaries and other such top officials have more vehicles, revealed a RTI query.
RTI activist Dr Nutan Thakur has claimed that as per the information given by the Uttar Pradesh estate department the secretaries and officials working CM secretariat have more vehicles that what rules allow them to have. The information came from public information officer GP Tiwari.
It says six officials have two or more government vehicles. The chief secretary RK Tiwari has 2, additional chief secretary (appointment) Mukul Singhal has 3, CM’s principal secretary SP Goyal, Sanjay Prasad, and Alok Kumar have 2 and assistant estate officer Ajit Kumar has 2 vehicles.
IN a earlier reply from the estate department it was mentioned that there is no order that an official shall have 2 vehicles. According to this information the order is dated September 08, 1965 and was amended on April 21 2006.
This order does not permits an official to have more than one government vehicle. Having more than one government vehicle is serious violation of the rules.
