An official of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (DVVN Ltd), one of the electricity supply company in state, was suspended after his seniors spotted picture of Osama Bin Laden in his office.
Amit Kishore, MD DVVN Ltd. in his office order on Wednesday said, “It was reported to me by officials that the engineer has put up a picture of Osama Bin Laden in office and the same was reported in newpapers too. This is in gross violation of the service rules.”
“This act calls for a strict disciplinary action. I immediately suspend him. During suspension period he shall get part of salary as per rules,” the order further said.
The poster said Osama was an engineer. Bin Laden is known for his role in masterminding the September 11 attacks, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people and prompted the United States, to initiate the War on Terror.
Laden became the subject of a decade-long international manhunt.
From 2001 to 2011, bin Laden was a major target of the United States, as the FBI offered a $25 million bounty in their search for him. On May 2, 2011, Bin Laden was shot and killed by US Navy SEALs inside a private residential compound in Abbottabad, in Pakistan. When killed, he was living with a local family from Waziristan.
Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden was founder of al-Qaeda. Under bin Laden’s leadership, al-Qaeda was responsible for the September 11 attacks in the United States, and many other mass-casualty attacks worldwide.
