Amitabh Thakur has presented a complaint before the National Human Rights Commission alleging stopping him and wife Dr Nutan Thakur from a political program to Gorakhpur and Ayodhya on the basis of some alleged intelligence report and then putting the entire family in house arrest.
In his complaint, Amitabh said that he and his wife were were stopped at 7 AM on 21 August 2021 by ACP Gomtinagar in name of his security concern and the entire family was put under house arrest by deploying heavy police force. He was not allowed to go even for morning walk.

He said if there was threat to his life, security arrangements should have been made but he could not be stopped in this manner.
He said the entire police force suddenly disappeared on 23 Noon and he has no security available with him any longer, which shows the real purpose of this arrangement.

Hence Amitabh has sought enquiry into the matter and fixing responsibility for violation of their Human Rights and grant of appropriate compensation. He has also prayed for stopping this in future and for providing him required State security.
