Shooting for Sidharth Malhotra starrer Mission Majnu began in Lucknow. Rashmika Mandanna, the leading lady in the film will join a few days later.
Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, Mission Majnu is a spy thriller, inspired by real events and is set in the 1970s. According to the makers, the film will tell the story of a mission that changed the relationship between India and Pakistan forever.
The makers announced the commencement of the shoot on social media. Rashmika wished good luck to the team on her Instagram story.
The makers of Mission Majnu have announced that the shooting of the film has been kick-started in Lucknow and for the next couple of days, Sidharth Malhotra will be shooting his scenes alone. Rashmika Mandanna will join the actor later.
Sharing a picture of the clap board from the first day of the shoot, the official Instagram handle of RSVP Movies announced, “The first chapter of one of India’s deadliest covert operations begins today! #MissionMajnu commences shoot in Lucknow (sic).”
Rashmika Mandanna, who didn’t join the team as Mission Mangal shoot began in Lucknow, took to Instagram story to wish the team good luck. Sharing RSVP Movies’ Instagram post, she wrote, “Ahhhhh… My boys start roling today. All the bestest y’all. Have fun without me! (sic).”
Sidharth Malhotra will be seen playing the role of a RAW agent. He recently shared the first-look poster of the film on Instagram.

The actor wrote, “The deadliest covert operation undertaken by our intelligence agency behind enemy lines! Presenting the first look of #MissionMajnu (sic).” In the poster, we see a determined Sidharth walking with a gun with a scene of war and destruction in the background.
According to the makers, Mission Majnu is a film based on India’s most ambitious covert operation. The film is inspired by real events and is set in the 1970s. It is an attempt to bring to the forefront the sacrifices and efforts of spies and undercover agents who work behind the scenes to safeguard the interest of the country.
