Lucknow. An all-round performance by skipper Rajiv Srivastava and his century stand for the opening-wicket partnership with Rishi Singh Senger helped Times of India notch up 32-run win against hosts LSJA XI in the SBI Cup Media Premier League, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium here today.
Srivastava smashed 59-ball 63 with the help of four hits to the fence, whereas Senger struck 58 in 42 balls with the help of six fours and the two added 125-run for the opening wicket to guide TOI post 164/3 in 20 overs after being sent to bat first. For LSJA XI, Abhishek took 2/31.
In reply, LSJA XI could make 132/9 in 20 overs. Avinash Sharma top scored 42, which cane off 46 balls with the help of four boundaries. Ashutsh Singh (18) and Sunny Buddhiraja (16) were the other batters, who could reach the double figure mark.
Anish Oberoi remained the most successful bowler for TOI, bagging 3/15, whereas Satyendra Mehrotra bagged 2/12. Abbas Rizvi and Rajiv Srivastava shared two wickets between them. Srivastava was given the man-of-the-match award by UP’s director sport, Dr RP Singh.
