Lucknow doctor tests positive for coronavirus

While tall claims of highest protocols are being made a doctor attending to the coronavirus patients at King George’s Medical University has been found positive for the virus. This is first case of medical team member getting infected while treating patients.

He is one of the resident doctors from the department of medicine working in the hospital of the medical university. His co-workers found him sick with symptoms of coronavirus and then tests were conducted declaring him positive for the virus load. He has been isolated and a retest is also being done.

Ten of his other colleagues are also being isolated and tested for the virus, said Prof SN Sankhwar, the medical superintendent of the medical university.

Number of cases in the state is now 16. Lucknow three cases, three in Noida, 8 in Agra, two in Ghaziabad. We have isolated ten other members of the medical team deployed for such patients and their samples are being tested, said Prof SN Sankhwar.

As precaution schools, gyms, swimming polls, cinema halls, multiplexes and anganwadi centres have been closed in the state by the government.
