The Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Schools hosted Athletica 2025, an annual inter-school sports championship, at Guru Govind Singh Sports College, Lucknow, on November 8, 2025. The event witnessed an atmosphere charged with energy, enthusiasm, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The grand occasion was graced by Padma Shri and Khel Ratna awardee Sakshi Malik, former Olympian and India’s trailblazing wrestling champion, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Satyawart Kadian, former Olympian and Arjuna Awardee, as the Special Guest, and Mr. Yash Jaipuria, Executive Director – Partner Schools and IT Innovation, Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions, as the Guest of Honour, and Mr. Taarun Chawlla, Senior Vice President, Partner Schools.

The event began with a prayer, flag hoisting, and a vibrant march past, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the torch that marked the formal opening of Athletica 2025.

More than 500 students representing 20 schools from the Jaipuria network showcased their athletic prowess across a wide array of events – track and field, table tennis, badminton, and chess.

The overall champions trophy was won by Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur. The overall trophies for the second place, third place, fourth place and fifth place were won by the Jaipuria schools from Ghaziabad, Alambagh, Nanpara and New Jajmau respectively. Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, won all three major trophies: Trailblazer Trophy, Trendsetter Trophy and Titans Trophy.

The championship celebrated not only victory but also participation, teamwork, and perseverance. Trophies and medals were awarded to individual athletes and school teams for their outstanding performances.

Delivering an inspiring address at the closing ceremony, Sakshi Malik lauded the young athletes for their determination and encouraged them to keep striving for excellence both on and off the field. She said, “It really pleases me when schools take the initiative to promote sports as not just an extra-curricular activity but as a passion that can become a lifelong calling for students. This is a very good thing, because preparation for a sporting career starts at schools. To the students, I want to say that if they pursue their passion with dedication, they will achieve their goals.”

Sharing his reflections, Mr. Yash Jaipuria remarked, “Winning medals is wonderful. But equally commendable is the courage to compete, the discipline to train, and the spirit to never give up. In my eyes, each one of the participants is a winner.”

Mr. Taarun Chawlla shared his vision for nurturing and elevating sporting talents across the schools in the Jaipuria Group’s network.

A testament to the 80-year legacy of the Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions, Athletica 2025 underscores the Group’s unwavering commitment to holistic development – shaping young minds through academic brilliance, values-based learning, and a strong emphasis on sports and extracurricular enrichment.
