While Kanika Kapoor termed the PGI facilities as poor the health department has termed her act as ‘criminal.’ Kanika Kapoor says when pointed out for cleanliness the doctor replied this was not a 5-star hotel.
Is Kanika Kapoor a start or an offender or a victim? The question comes up after Lucknow district administration lodged an FIR, health department termed her behaviour as a criminal act and the PGI hospital asked her to behave as a patient and stop throwing tantrums.
Later the PGI administration issued a statement. PGI director RK Dhiman said Kanika Kapoor should behave as a patient and not throw tantrums of a star. She is being given Gluten free food, separate room with separate ventilation and best treatment but she should first start behaving as a patient first.
Also the chief medical officer of Lucknow termed the act of Kanika Kapoor as of ‘criminal nature’. It has been understood that Kanika Kapoor violated rules laid down by government of India and WHO for coronavirus attending social functions that increased chance of virus spread among others. This act is of criminal nature. Dr Narendra Agrawal, Chief medical Officer of Lucknow said this in a press statement.
Kanika Kapoor sample was taken on March 19 and she tested positive the next day. She had come on March 9 to India from UK, where she went to meet her children. As per the protocol she should have self-quarantined for 14-days and contacted doctor s if any symptoms arise but instead she went to parties, met people, visited relatives in Lucknow and other places and also attended Holi party.
An FIR has been lodged on complaint of the chief medical officer. Kanika immediately after testing positive followed instructions of the health officials. The woman famous for songs like Baby Doll and Chitiya Kalaiyan, went straight to PGI from her Mahanagar house along with her mother. Her parents tested negative.
But the scare spread soon and all those who attended parties with her went in to self-quarantine. The list includes state deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and his family, health minister JP Singh and also former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje and Congress’ Jitin Prasad.
The state has 26 positive cases and about 800 are under observation while 11 have recovered also. Those recovered are from Agra, NOIDA and Lucknow. But the question remains, if those who have a fan following behave irresponsibly how can the common man be expected to behave sensibly to contain virus spread?
