On Friday the Delhi Police has released the photographs of nine people suspected to be responsible in Jawaharlal Nehru University violence that happened last week, along with their names. The suspects named in the list are mostly the members of JNSU based on the video recordings leaked on social media as there were no active CCTV cameras in the campus.

Members of the Left groups attacked the server room inside the JNU campus stopping the online registration and enforced a strike over the protest. However, no suspect has been detained till now, DCP crime Dr Joy Tirkey said.
Tirkey was probing the case said as the winter semester is here students wanted to register their from during January 1-5 but they were not allowed due to protests. The protests happened due to increase in hostel fees by Left leaning NSUI members namely, Aisha Ghosh president of the students union NSUI, Waskar Vijay (NSUI), Sucheta Talukddar(NSUI), Priya Ranjan (NSUI), Dolan Sawant (NSUI) and Chunchun Kumar (NSUI), Pankaj Mishra (NSUI) Dolan Sawant (NSUI) . While, Yogendra Bhardawaj and Vikas Pate are from BJP linked to Akil Bhartiya Vidhrthi Parishad or ABVP.
