India made a new single day hike in fresh cases 97,570 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours.
The total coronavirus count in the country crossed 46 lakh, while 1,201 fatalities took the death toll past 77,000. Till now 4,659,984 cases have been recorded with 77,506 deaths and of the total cases 77,506 have recovered.
The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances. Till now USA is leading with 6,636,247 cases and Brazil with 4,283,978 case is on third position in the world after India that is the second.
India has tested 5,40,97,975 samples, including 11,63,542 samples in the last 24 hours.
In India Maharastra leads with maximum 1015681 cases, while Andhra Pradesh has recorded 547686, Uttar Pradesh 299045 cases, Tamil Nadu 491571 cases and Karnataka 440411 cases. The testing facility too is being increased by many states in India and the rise in cases is attributed to testing facility as one of the key reasons.
Trail of vaccines in the country too has advanced and in recent development Bharat Biotech has announced that the animal trials of its Covid-19 vaccine candidate Covaxin were successful. The company said the results demonstrated the protective efficacy of the vaccine in a live viral challenge model. It said the data from the study on primates substantiates the immunogenicity of the vaccine candidate.
