COVID-19 count in India has crossed 27 lakh while fatalities stand at 51,797 on Tuesday. The only relief is that number of fresh cases came down to 55,078 from an average nearing 60000. The fall in number of fresh cases has been registered in the past two days. Also the number of treated/discharged patients has gone up over 129 lakh in the country.
According to the statistics on Tuesday morning total cases stood at the figure of 2,701,604, while 1,976,248 had recovered. IN all 6,73,166 are under treatment. IN the past 24-hours about 9 lakh samples were tested with maximum in Uttar Pradesh.
The COVID-19 tally in Uttar Pradesh has reached over 1.5 lakh while the death tally reached 2515. India is treating its patients with different medical methods including different drugs.
Hydroxychloroquine in India has been approved as a treatment in mild and moderate cases, and as prophylactic. Remdesivir has been approved under emergency use for patients with moderate COVID-19 (those on oxygen). Also the use of convalescent plasma is being considered in patients with moderate COVID-19 who are not improving.
Under off label use, Tocilizumab may be considered in patients with moderate COVID-19 who are not improving (progressively increasing oxygen requirements and in mechanical ventilation) despite the use of steroids.

Corticosteroid drugs such as Methylprednisolone and Dexamethasone have been approved for the clinical management of patients with moderate and severe COVID-19. Low molecular weight Heparin has been prescribed to prevent blood clots and thrombogenic response.
