For the past six days majority videos that went viral on social media were of police. Cops were seen beating people every where from roads to religious places. People reacted a lot on these videos. Such an act was termed inhuman. It is true that cops had beaten up some innocent people, which is wrong, but a human face too has been seen of the police personnel. We will talk of that very face of police which is often not seen.
Prime minister narendra Modi on March 24 announced a lockdown of 21-days to check spread of coronavirus. He appealed to people that a line has been drawn before their houses and none should cross and come out. he also mentioned that those who violate will face strict action.
After the announcement of lockdown there was a different atmosphere in the country. Those who could understand the significant of the matter obeyed the lockdown and remained inside houses but many were seen roaming uselessly on the streets. Police resorted to cane and in this many innocent were also beaten. Those who had come out of their houses under compulsion also became targets. There was much upheaval on this but in this episode another face of the police was seen.
Police is helping people who are stuck in the lockdown. Medicine, food and even blood what ever is required is being provided by the police. Police in Uttar Pradesh is doing all this.
Many would not believe but this is also true about police. The same social media platforms that shown the cruel face of police also showed the human face. Watching these videos no one will believe thi sis the same police that makes you come again-and-again even for small little work at police stations. They demand to lodge FIR. But for now police is helping people apart from implementing rules.
Right from state capital Lucknow to Rae Bareilly, Prayagraj, Rampur, Siddharthnagar, and from many other districts the human face of police is out on social media. The maximum trouble is for the labours and not just UP but from other states also labours are coming hungry and thirsty. Police knows their condition and is arranging food for them.
The Rampur police is distributing vegetables and ration while Prayagraj police is cooking food and distributing. Similarly the woman police station in Rae Bareilly is arranging food for the poor. Also for those who are facing trouble in getting medicine or are stuck somewhere, the UP police is there to help. Several case have come up to light. The best explanation will be done by Tamanna Ali.
Ask Tamanna of Bareilly and she would tell how cops turned messangers from heaven for her. In fact Tamanna was 9 months pregnant and her husband was in Noida and stuck due to lockdown. Tamanna knew she could get labour pain anytime now. She issued a video on social media and asked for help.
The video reached Bareilly SSP Shailesh Pandey and he spoke to her over the telephone and assured help. Shailesh asked for help from additional SP Ranvijay Singh. Ranvijay got Tamanna husband help to reach Bareilly and after some time she delivered a baby boy. She kept her son’s name on the name of Additional SP Ranvijay. She said the cops are god in uniform.
