Hours after testing negative a coronavirus patient died

Lucknow: Hours after a 58-year-old doctor from Orai testing negative for coronavirus died at the King George’s Medical University on Saturday. He was the first coronavirus patient to be given plasma therapy in state.

The doctor was brought to the medical university 14-days before along with his wife and were under treatment at the isolation facility. Their second negative report came during the day after which doctors decided to discharge the wife. The condition of the doctor was not fit for discharge hence treatment had to continue.

The doctor also suffered with urinary tract infection for which treatment was done. he was the first coronavirus patient to be given plasma therapy and he had improved after it but unfortunately he developed urinary tract infection and dialysis was also done but he died during treatment, said KGMU in a press statement.

He was diabetic hence his treatment was a challenge with coronavirus. He was on ventilator support and doctors were trying to remove it gradually and had got partial success too. This is second coronavirus death in the state capital. Doctors had planned discharge for his wife while for the doctor further treatment was being planned. His son is a MBBS student at the KGMU
