After deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak’s letter to the additional chief secretary medical health seeking explanation for irregularities in transfers of doctors the matter took another turn with a firm that did contact work during covid alleging payments have been withheld deliberately.
A detailed letter has been sent to the prime minister office by R CUBU Group of Companies, alleging additional chief secretary has withheld payment. The letter alleged that in several locations where work was done by different agencies instalments have not been released despite work being completed or in final stage. Instalments were to be paid according to progress in work.
This letter comes even as letter from Brajesh Pathak, who is also state’s health, family welfare and medical education minister has to be worked upon. A high level committee has been formed that will look in to the probe report to be prepared by the ACS, as demanded by the deputy chief minister.
The PMO has sent the grievance document filed with the department of administrative reforms and public grievances to the chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh to do the needful.
The development is being seen as a new trouble for the ACS Amit Mohan Prasad. The issue of transfers came to fore in Uttar Pradesh after the list of doctors to be transferred was out on June 30. Many doctors close to retirement, those who were ill, or had spouse working in the same district were transferred, which were taken up with the health directorate as against transfer policy.
