A decision has been taken to abort all troops from Jammu and Kashmir four months after the abrogation of Article 370 giving in the region giving it a special status. Almost 7,000 Paramilitary troops have been called with an immediate effect compiling of 70 Companies after reviewing the security on Tuesday.
A high level review meeting in which Communication from the Ministry of home Affairs (MHA) to the chief secretary and the home secretary of Jammu and Kashmir along with the Srinagar Director of Police decided to send back all the 72 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), “with immediate effect from their location and revert to their respective locations.”
The meeting was chaired by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and attended among others by Lutenent Governor of Jammu and Kashmir GC Murmu, Union Home Secretary Ajay K Bhalla, senior security adviser in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on the UT K Viajay Kumar.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also joined the meeting.
The units contained of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Forces (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP), Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) and the Shahastra Seema Bal (SSB) were deployed to the newly formed Union Territory after the After the abrogation of Article 370 in the valley.
