Golden Globes 2021 this year will be held in a virtual ceremony on February 28 — almost two months later than usual.
The event will be live virtually from The Beverly Hilton, where the Globes are usually held, and the NBC Headquarters in New York, respectively. Golden Globes Awards 2021 nominations were announced on February 3.
The nominations for the 78th Golden Globes Awards were announced in a virtual ceremony. Netflix’s Mank and The Crown have most number of nominations in the film and television categories, respectively. While Mank is nominated in six categories, The Crown is nominated in five.
The Queen’s Gambit could see Anya Taylor-Joy complete her star transformation with a win for Best Actress in a Limited series. She is also nominated for Emma.
The timing for viewing the golden globes awards are as follows. In the US on Sunday, February 28 at 5 pm PT/ 8 pm ET, in Australia it will be on Monday, March 1 at noon AEDT, in UK Monday, March 1 at 1 am GMT and in India, Monday, March 1 at 4 am.
The Golden Globe Awards are accolades bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association beginning in January 1944, recognizing excellence in film. The annual ceremony at which the awards are presented is normally held every January, and is a major part of the film industry’s awards season, which culminates each year in the Academy Awards.

The eligibility period for the Golden Globes corresponds to the calendar year (i.e. January 1 through December 31). The 77th Golden Globe Awards, honoring the best in film and television in 2019, were held on January 5, 2020.
The virtual ceremony will be broadcast live from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on NBC. While last year, the Golden Globes ceremony was simulcast live in India on Comedy Central India, Vh1 India and Colors Infinity, it is yet to be known if it will be available on these platforms this year as well.
