EVEN IN THE SIXTH PHASE , THE CANDIDATES ARMED WITH CRIMINAL CASES ARE IN LINE TO BECOME HONORABLE

LUCKNOW. After studying the affidavits of 670 candidates out of 676 candidates who had tried their luck in the elections for 57 seats in the sixth phase of uttar pradesh assembly elections, it has been revealed that out of these, 182 candidates are facing criminal cases under various sections. of these , 151 candidates have serious criminal cases registered against them .

The Uttar Pradesh Elections Watch and Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) have studied the criminal cases filed against them, the assets held and their education and education after studying the affidavits of the candidates who contested the elections. It has been revealed in this study that 27% of the candidates contested in the election have criminal cases registered against them.

As far as the criminal cases against the candidates are concerned, there is no political party which have shied away from people of criminal image. samajwadi party have fielded 48 candidates for the sixth phase of elections. of these, 40 have criminal cases registered against them. Meaning 83% candidates have criminal cases registered against them.

Talking about the ruling party BJP, it has fielded 52 candidates. out of these 23 have criminal cases against them, meaning 44% of candidates have criminal cases record . congress has 56 candidates in the fray, of these , 22 i.e. 39 percent have criminal cases against them.

Bahujan samaj party have fielded its candidates on all 57 seats. there are criminal cases against 22 BSP candidates i.e. 39%. Aam Aadmi Party have fielded 51 candidates . of these , 9 candidates have criminal cases filed against them.

Talking about serious criminal cases , samajwadi party has 29 out of 48 i.e. 60 percent, BJP has 20 out of 52 i.e. 36 percent. BSP has 18 i.e. 32% and Aam Aadmi party has 51 i.e. 10% candidates have declared serious criminal cases against them.

Sudhir singh of bahujan samaj party , who is a candidate from Gorakhpur’s sahjanwa assembly seat, is in the first place in the criminal cases declared by the candidates in the sixth phase. 26 cases are registered against him. 27 serious section have been imposed against him. in the second place Ashok chauhan of suheldev bharatiya samaj party from khadda assembly seat of kushinagar district. against whom there are 19 criminal cases are registered and 23 serious section have been imposed against him. in the third place Chandra shekhar from Gorakhpur assembly constituency of Azad Samaj party. on whom 16 cases are registered and 22 serious sections are imposed against him. 8 candidates have declared cases related to atrocities against women. Out of these eight , two candidates have declared cases related to rape (IPC-376) against them. 8 candidates have declared cases related to murder (IPC-302) against them. At the same time 23 candidates have declared cases related to attempt to murder (IPC-307) against them.
