DSP Davindar Singh took Rs12 lakh to ferry terrorists in and out of valley?

 

Jammu: The 57 year old Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir(JKP) Davindar Singh have been arrested at a police check-post in Kulgam on Sunday afternoon along with two Hizbul Mujahideen militants and a lawyer while trying to flee the state.

The police caught the vehicle after receiving intelligence input of two militants travelling towards Jammu but wasn’t expecting the officer of accompanying them.

Davindar Singh is was arrested from Miz Bazar area of Kulgam along with members of banned terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen- Naveed Baba who was its district commander, and Altaf an unidentified lawyer said to be an over ground worker of the organization. The police is shocked over the officers arrest as they could have been planning for a terror strike.

“Singh was probably providing a perfect hide-out to militants who wants to cross borders in winter for several years in return he was paid handsome amount of money,” an official said.

Deputy Inspector of police (South Kashmir) Atul Goyal standing at the check post attended the vehicle himself when they arrived and arrested four people after Singh tried to throw his weight around policemen standing there. He was arrested immediately after which two pistols and an AK refile was seized from his residence. According to sources Rs 12 lakhs may have been given to him for the job.

Davindar Singh was posted with the anti-hijacking unit at Srinagar Airport and was also a part of the team that received 16 member delegation of foreign ambassador which visited Kashmir on Thursday. A case has been registered under Unlawful Activities Act and Arms Act while interrogation by IB and RAW is expected as the officer is caught ‘ferrying terrorists’ outside the valley and into Pakistan.
